Thunder Tool is your partner in new product development. Our engineers, program and project managers will work closely with you, from the initial part and process designs. They will begin by learning your product’s critical features and applications, and understanding any associated risks that may factor into the tooling concept.
Using 3-D design tools they will develop customized solutions for you, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, ease of manufacture, and process consistency.
Our team will share their engineering knowledge and years of experience in metal forming, to create a high-quality tool or process at the lowest cost possible.
tool & die project management
For your Thunder Tool project, you will be assigned a Program Manager, who will oversee the project’s schedule. When the project begins, they will develop a detailed timeline, which will be the basis for monitoring the project’s progress through to completion—including, if applicable, PPAP & SOP approvals.
Your Program Manager will manage all related subcontractors and/or suppliers in your project’s supply chain (should we award any subcontracts for additional machinery or processes). They will keep you up to date on project status related to prototypes, tool and gage build, or the progress on the automated welding or staking machines, or robotic carrying tools.
Our engineering team will visit your plant to fully understand your assembly process and collect information about your product’s fit and functionality.
After your product is launched, our QA department will ensure that it is manufactured to the highest quality standards, using state of the art Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) software and other high-precision instruments.
On an ongoing basis, we will remain in contact with you to ensure a continuous-improvement process, and if necessary refine aspects of your product’s design or build.
